Residential Kitchen in Manhattan Apartment
David Gauld was the architect for the renovation of a prewar apartment on Fifth Avenue. The client was a gourmet cook and wanted to have a pegboard to keep cooking utensils and pots at hand. Rather than use a typical fiberboard pegboard, which is better suited for a utility room than a Manhattan kitchen, Gauld proposed making a custom pegboard using indented perforated stainless steel. McNichols Company supplied the material, and it worked well with an assortment of hooks obtained from the hardware store.
