Ceiling and Wall Application in Office, Used to Display Project Models, Yet Allow Light to Filter Through
A wood framed building located in downtown Rochester, Minnesota, was one of the original locations for Dr. William Mayo and his medical practice. His clinic grew to one of the most prestigious medical facilities in the world, and eventually moved one block to the west, the current location of The Mayo Clinic. The building is still in use, but today is home to the architectural firm of Hammel, Green, and Abrahamson, Inc. The original wood roof structure has been exposed and highlighted with the use of 24"x24" perforated both above the panels, and recessed in strategic locations.

10'x24" perforated metal panels were also used at the end of the corridor. The panels are framed with galvanized metal studs and placed in front of the existing windows. These panels are used not only to allow natural light to filter in and light the end of the corridor, but also used to mount architectural models.

The panels are simple, yet their design and location create an acoustical and visual enhancement of the existing historic building.
